UK floods

The wet weather and high tides in the UK has made life difficult for every body in England and Wales. But how did these floods happen to be so dramatic and could the UK have prevented all this damage and have they learned their lesson now, so this won't happen again in the future.

The bad weather in the UK started in December and is starting to calm down. But the UK citizens have work to do, clean up their houses, get back to their normal lives again, help other people in danger and think of water management techniques that will prevent what happened in the future. But the parliament started thinking about it when they got a angry letter from a group of environmental and planning  experts. They said that the parliament should find First of all a way to get rid of all the water and second of all to find a way so the water can go away immediately and that it won't spread out in to cities and villages. 

Fortunately the water is starting to go away. But Yet the parliament is not sure how to prevent the floods in the future. But it is needed otherwise their might be such dramatic floods again and the UK isn't waiting for that. Now the group of environmental and planing experts is coming in again because they are thinking of making huge tunnels under the big cities of England and Wales where the water can go. This is a good idea, though it i'l cost a very lot of money and how are they gonna start this project when will they finish. The group of people that send the letter think it is a very good idea and that the UK should do that. Also one of the group members, called sue Illman said that the UK didn't address their long term water management projects. She also said" Long term sustained in vestment was needed throughout river catchment areas."  In total there were 70 flood warnings and 120 less serious flood alerts. The prime minster said that they would start thinking about a way to prevent this in the future on The 1st of April but probably it will cost more then £ 50.000.

The people of the city where the tornado hit where shocked because they have never had so many tornados occur in a small time period in the region. Scientists and geographers are studding the reason of so many natural disasters happening is a small area. The citizens are frightened by the fact that it is possible that it could possibly happen  that it will be so that tornados will continue from here on out.

            The fifth tornado did in fact not do as much damage as the other tornados. This one in particular one did damage to a few trees and snapping two lamp posts as well as breaking a few tiles off the roofs of the houses located in the area. Luckily the last tornado was not as bad as the other ones, for example the third tornado has snapped more than 3-4 lamp posts from the floor and broken more than just a few tiles from the houses. Even Luckier is that this problem in North Alabama isn’t as bad as the tornado outbreak of 358 tornados touch the ground in less than 18 hours.

The news team was able to arrive in time to get a few shots of the tornado and as some locals what they think about this. A nearby woman was watching as the tornado left the city leaving them with only the remainders of the trees, buildings and lamp posts. The news team was able to get a quote from her. “It’s nothing like I’ve ever seen before, having so many tornados in the same place” She looked shocked at the reporter and has a scared look in her eye.

The Sony sellout?

Lenovo stating that they shall buy rights to Sonys release of the “sony vaio” in an attempt to start and lead a business alliance. This was later denied by the Sony Company and it was stated that "Sony continues to address various options for the PC business, but the press report on a possible PC business alliance between Sony and Lenovo is inaccurate,"

Sony does have plans to revisit and improve the vaio and say that they will further improve their marketing and also their manufacturing strategies. Sony states that the reason that the vaio was “unsuccessful” is because of higher popularity of smartphones and tablets. They will release their new results by the end of March.

Lenovo then went on to state that they will buy googles Motorola for USD 2.91 Billion. Making that transit the fourth largest US-Chinese/Hong Kong Company ever. Their plan to buy off the Motorola is a defense against the high rising products released from Samsung and Apple in the smartphone industry. This has not yet been confirmed by Google.

The Opening of the Olympic Games in Sochi

The winter Olympics are happening in Sochi (Russia) Fisht Stadium. The Olympic games are happening in February. The reason why the Opening of the Olympic games are so spectacular this is the reason.  Last Friday the opening ceremony had taken the audience and began going on a  Russian journey. 

In the opening ceremony of the olympic games 3000 performers  dance do acrobatics and also people do  circus groups. Also the ceremony included Olympic Mascots a leopard, bear and a hare representing skiers and also skaters and snowboarders. The ceremony also did the famous russian ballet, revolution and also russian art.   At the end of the ceremony Irina Rodnina and Vladisalv  Tretiak lit the Olympic torch signalling the start of the Olympic Games.The people light the Olympic torch because it comes from Greece and was first introduced as the modern Olympics at 1928 (Amsterdam Games). “Since the the flame has come to symbolize” the light of spirit, knowledge and life”. 

The torch is lighten by two people doing it together in the opening ceremony of the start of the Olympic games . People light the olympic torch before the games have begun and they carry the Olympic torch to Olympia. You have probably seen the five circles of different colours while you are watching the Olympic Games that is what the symbol means. The olympic games are people that are from all around the world and in the ceremony that is what they are talking about. There are two kinds of Olympic Games Summer Olympics and Winter Olympics and I really hope you all will enjoy my article about Olympic games in the past month.

You may wonder why it is called The Olympic games? Greek people started the Olympic games 3000 years ago. The Olympic Games were held in Olympia and that is the reason of the name. The Olympic Games are held every four years.The Olympic Games were held because there were gods that lived on Mount Olympus and the gods were with respect of the king god Zeus. In Ancient Greece 3000 years ago it was 5 days and now it is 17 days of the Olympic Games. In Ancient Greece in Sochi 3000 years ago it was 5 events and now it is 98 events.In our days we have 85 countries and 6000 athletes. “ At  the first Olympic Games there was only one event and that was a running race around 200 meters.” During the games a truce was observed between city states. Athletes were allowed to pass through enemy territory to get to the games.”

Atletico Madrid's Fan Throws Lighter on Real Madrid's star; Christiano Ronaldo

As the football stars of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid were getting ready the challenging game, aware of the many injuries that might occur the last thing they could think of was a lighter being thrown at the players. 

During the first 45 minutes of the though game, Christiano Ronaldo showed his excellent soccer skills as he manages to score two goals. After a lot of hard work and playing the referee finally blew the whistle for the half time. Christiano Ronaldo, and his teammate, Sergio Ramos, where talking and enjoying their break while getting off the pitch.  

However, the happiness for leading in the game didn't last for long. An Atletico Madrid's angry fan threw a yellow lighter on Christiano Ronaldo due to him scoring and making his club lead. At the first few seconds, his teammate Sergio didn't notice that Ronaldo has been hit, but once the popular soccer player fell on the floor the whole team knew, he has been attacked. But Ronaldo was strong enough to get up and continue playing for the second half of the game. 

After the game, many people tweeted about Ronaldo being hit. This included: "Ronaldo has just been hit in the head by a lighter, thrown by a supporter" said AS English (@English_AS). "Ronaldo gets hit with an object while walking off the pitch at half time. Disgraceful-" BC (@BradleyCromack). The official twitter page of Real Madrid posted ".@MrAncelotti: "Christiano was very good and scored two important goals." #RMLive" Real Madrid C.F. (@realmadriden). And finally "Absolutely hate people who go to football games and throw objects at players. Absolute disgrace of a football fan threw a lighter at Ronaldo" Declan McQuillan (Declan_505x).

Luckily, Ronaldo was not hurt in any way but the cost of Ronaldo being hit was 600 euros.

Scary Shooting in Movie Theater

People had just started to settle down to watch the movie they payed for, everybody was munching popcorn and everything was at peace, but that was before the argument started.

 Retired police officer Curtis Reeves notice the Oulson couple in front of them. Chad Oulson had out his cell phone and was texting his young daughter at home. Reeves didn't like that very much and that was when he decided to do something about it.
Reeves nagged and nagged Oulson to turn off his cell-phone. Oulson just ignored him. After minutes of nagging, Chad Oulson couldn't take it any more. He stood up to tell him to go, and Reeves pulled out a gun. He aimed at Oulson's chest and fired.
"If I had to do it all over again, it would have never happened," Curtis Reeves told Pasco County Sherrif dectectives "but you don't get do-overs."



After shooting the man with the 380- Caliber handgun, Reeves placed it on his right thigh. Sherrif Nocco, who was present at the movie, immidietely took action. After taking the gun and handcuffed Reeves, the ambulance had arrived to take Chad Oulson to the hospital but only to find out it was to late. Nichole Oulson need to fix her hand which she used to try to block the bullet with. After that, every person in the movie theater were surprised that the tragedy like that happened.

            If the winter cold is getting you down, than the city of ice just might have a way to warm your spirits. It’s time to pack your bags and visit  ice kingdom of Harbin. If you have made a snowman and thought it's something to be proud of, think again. China's northeastern city of Harbin is hosting an event, showcasing an entire city made out of ice. This is 30^th anniversary of the festival, it started this year on January 5^th and it will last till it melts. Over 7,000 artists and workers have been working around the clock to put the finishing touches to Harbin, China's annual Ice Festival. All sculptures and rides are made out of ice and snow.

China came up with idea to make this festival so people can enjoy incredible sculptures and rides with their friends and family ”We want tourists to have great time over winter break. We made this festival so people can enjoy their vacation with their friends and family!” The temperature there has plummeted to -28°C but that does not stop the locals and tourists from coming in for a glimpse of the spectacular frozen city. ”All Sculptures are made out of ton of snow and ice, they're also perfectly safe.” According to organizers, the festival is one of the largest in the world stretching to 6,458,400 square feet. One million visitors are expected to travel to the festival.

What makes the ice buildings remain solid for days is the bitter temperature experienced in the area. Some buildings are as tall as a western skyscraper, while the entire city illuminates in glittering LED lights making it a real winter wonderland.
